Ways to take part

There are many ways to contribute to the work of SafeHere, from a few minutes to a sustained commitment.

Options

Arranged by the time they require

  • If you need support

    Ask where to turn

You do not need to know the name of the service you need. Describe your situation in your own words, and SafeHere will identify a suitable service and its cost.

  • Five minutes

    Follow and share

The day-to-day work is published on the platforms people already use. Sharing a single post with someone who needs it matters: this is how most people first learn of a helpline.

  • An afternoon

    Use the research

The figures and their sources may be reused freely in a school project, a policy submission, an article or a talk. Please cite the body that produced each figure rather than SafeHere.

  • Ongoing

    Volunteer a skill

SafeHere welcomes expertise in translation, design, research and accessibility, as well as first-hand knowledge of how a system works. Please state what you can offer and how much time you have available.

For organisations

Partnerships

SafeHere works with shelters, clinics, schools, recovery programmes, youth services and front-line groups, referring people to them rather than duplicating what they already provide.

A partnership typically takes the following form: SafeHere lists the partner's service where relevant, the partner corrects any inaccuracy in its description, and SafeHere contributes design or research support for which the partner has no budget.

Partnerships are free and non-exclusive, and the people a partner supports stay entirely the partner's own.

For young people

The fellowship

The fellowship equips young people to lead campaigns, peer-support training and policy work under their own names, with the full backing of SafeHere.

No qualifications are needed, and the fellowship is open to young people of any nationality. It is not clinical training and does not qualify anyone as a counsellor.

The application asks two questions: what you wish to change, and what you have already tried.

Funding

SafeHere does not accept donations from the public

There is no public fundraising, no campaign and nothing for sale. SafeHere is privately funded. The people SafeHere serves are never asked for any financial contribution. SafeHere never asks for money online, by message or by phone. Anyone who does so in its name is not acting on its behalf. Please report any such request.
